That coastline was named after the bones of whales and seals that once lay on the sands stripped bare by other animals, whalers, sealers and the sun. Where it flows into the ocean, around the Skeleton Coast, there are endless kilometres of deserted beach, interrupted only by massive colonies of barking seals and the brilliant blush of flamingos.
